Competition Success

Dolce achieved great success in the Cork International Choral Festival and the Navan Choral Festival during May this year. After a lot of hard work from everyone, we got a great result in Cork (the standard was too high to expect a prize!) where we were awarded 84% in the Church Music competition. Adjudicators comments were positive and encouraging, and we look forward to returning to Cork for the Choral Festival next year – May Bank Holiday weekend. We were awarded 1st prize in the Contemporary Music competition in Navan the following weekend with 88% beating Cantóirí to a close 2nd place. The competition in the Sacred Music compeition was intense and we were delighted to achieve a 2nd place, beating 8 other choirs and being awarded just one mark less than the winners – Seoda  from Limerick.

We plan to continue singing in competitions during May 2011 – probably visiting New Ross at the end of the month. Again put the dates in your diary if you’d like to sing with us!
